As you can see, I have not faithfully been updating my blog as I thought I would when I created it. I apologize! My intentions were pure at the start, however, life and the schedule of D.T.S. staffing has taken it's toll. I've been convicted on this and have decided to keep all of you who support me and have followed my time here with Youth With A Mission so far, better informed about what God has been doing in me personally. Please forgive me and here's my first update in a while.
In my e-mail update, there was a general awareness of my schedule and duties, but so much is going on inside me that it's hard to write it all out. God has really been using this season to prune me and continue the process of bearing good fruit in my walk with Him and daily life. During week 3- hearing the voice of God, we spent some time praying and wrote our sins and the things hindering us from going deeper with God on paper and burned it at our fire pit. When I was praying, God revealed to me that my pocket calendar was something that I was looking to even more than Him. I didn't realize what a hold it had on me until I burned that thing. Not because in itself calendars are bad, but for me... well this was just what God used to teach me to lean on Him more! Can I tell you, honestly, I was a little lost for a while. I had written down everything I thought should be done and when... I left no room for anything! God has great intentions and plans for me moment to moment and He showed me that sometimes I was missing them because of "my schedule." Naturally, I'm still responsible and write down things that need to be done and when, but I feel now that I am learning so much how to walk by the Spirit.
Weekly, part of my position in my students lives is to meet with them one on one at least once a week. I love my girls so much. God has really given me part of His heart to love them with. They are growing and sharing their lives with me much more than I could have asked for. I've found that so many divine appointments in conversations with them (just being at the right place at the right time one on one) has led to dozens of really fruitful times with them.
I am learning how to rely on Him endlessly. Although it's a great privilege to be school staff, it is so challenging more times than not. I need Jesus. I need Him to lead me, fill me up with love and patience and strength. If I wasn't giving Him the time He deserved... I was feeling it. It is hard to believe how far He has brought me in my personal journey through this time. I have to admit, when I signed up, I didn't realize how much God would be changing me!
I wouldn't change this sweet, sweet season with Him for anything. I feel so close to Him, like we are best friends.
I want to thank each of you for your prayers and time for reading this blog and obviously my e-mail or newsletter update. I really appreciate your devotion to what God is doing in my life. Feel free to respond, as I would love to hear what He is to you in whatever season you are in. If you do not receive my e-mail updates weekly, or my mailed newsletter and wish too, please let me know and I will gladly add you to my address list.
Also, I am looking to expand my team of committed supporters so if you would like to join please let me know and I can give you further information.
I love you all and pray God's love would be your portion today.
In Him,
Angela
